The video above is a tutorial for teaching your guinea pig to follow a nose target. The written step by step tutorial can be found on the Nose Target page on this site. Following a target is an easy trick to teach, and most guinea pigs pick up on it quickly. Hopefully this video tutorial will be helpful to those of you starting out with training your piggy!
Meet Ace, my 4 month old baby guinea pig, who has recently started trick training. :) Ace (or Acey as I tend to call him) has caught on quite naturally to learning tricks and is quickly growing his repertoire. He is a highly confident young piggy, and seems to love our trick training sessions already. :)
Ace's Trick Count Playlist is a full collection of his trick videos so far, recorded for every 5 new tricks that he learns. So far, at 4 months old, he has 4 videos in this playlist, totaling 20 tricks, in a little over a month (Videos are shown below). It took him approximately a week to learn the tricks in each video. He has developed quite a talent for picking up tricks, and is always eager to learn more.
Ace is a sweetheart too, and always has to be involved in whatever I'm doing at any given time. Of course, he's also a little troublemaker too, and if there's something he's not supposed to get into, you can bet he'll find a way to get into it. ;) He also has a silly obsession for people's feet, as you can see from his photos. ;) He is so cute though, you just can't help but laugh at him. :)
